Two rotary switches (18, 28) are provided which are preferably on parallel axes and whose switch shafts (17, 27) each have a locking disc (16, 26). A stepping drive (1, 2) can drive each rotary switch (18, 28) via a locking mechanism (15, 25) subject to the correct switching command being given, which initially produces the rotation of that rotary switch (18) whose locking disc (16) engages in a blocking manner in the locking disc (26) of the other rotary switch (28). If this is the case, then the rotary switch (18) rotates, and its locking disc (16) releases the locking disc (26) of the other rotary switch (28). The other rotary switch (28), which is thus free, can now itself rotate and, at the same time, its locking disc (26) blocks that of the first-mentioned rotary switch (16). The reverse process is now possible. Contacts on the two switches can in this case be used for electrical locking of their rotating-magnet stepping drives (1, 2). <IMAGE>
