PURPOSE:To obtain a faithful output signal for a fine pattern by providing more than one picture element which includes red and blue signals for any horizontal direction in a filter which is arranged by a repetition cycle of two picture elements in the horizontal direction and four picture elements in the vertical direction. CONSTITUTION:A color filter is formed on each picture element, and consists of repetition of a set of two horizontal and four vertical picture elements, eight picture elements in total. Here, W indicates a transparent color filter, G a green filter, Ye a yellow (green and red) filter, and Cy a cyan (blue and green) filter. WR and YeR show characteristics which are controlled within the range of 25 to 75% of the red light transmittance factor of W and Ye. When the filter is constituted as mentioned above, the number of picture elements containing a red signal, out of eight picture elements, is six; the number of picture elements containing a blue signal is four, so that a faithful image can be obtained for incidence of the red and blue fine patterns. |
