PURPOSE:To make logical arithmetic between an optical signal and an electric signal possible and output the arithmetic results with an optical signal by using a photoconductor laser having a differential gain characteristic or an optical bistable characteristic which changes an injected current. CONSTITUTION:A light quantity Pin1 of an input optical signal 106, a light quantity Pin2 of an input optical signal 107, the value of an injected current (i) which is changed in accordance with an input electric signal 101, and the value of a light quantity Pout of an output optical signal 105 are set to prescribed values in accordance with low and high levels. Thus, input optical signals 106 and 107 and the injected current (i) corresponding to the input electric signal 101 are inputted to a semiconductor laser 104 having a differential characteristic or a bistable characteristic and are subjected to logical arithmetic, and the result is injected as the output optical signal 105. |
