Moulds for making composite soles and heels from injection moulded or cast thermoplastic or thermosetting materials, allow the cavity to be automatically back pressured, with air, throughout the cycle via slits transverse to the material flow path in the heavy (heel) section of the cavity. Back pressuring helps to create a rapidly chilled moulding surface to prevent display of any sinking, and can assist ejection sufficiently to dispense with use of mould release agents, saving expense and possible interference with subsequent adhesion between the sole and a shoe body.
|
