<p>Cpds. of formula: (where R1 is H, OH, halogen; R2 is H, halogen) are prepd. by selective oxidn. in which the corresp. 3-hydroxyphenothiazine or 3H-phenothiazine-3-one is reacted with a peracid, pref. perbenzoic acid, in dioxan.</p>
