The present invention relates to an improved sail for a boat. This sail 1, according to one embodiment, comprises a multiplicity of panels or small sails 4, one side 5 of which is fixed onto one 1a or both sides of the sail 1, and the opposite side 6 of which comprises a manoeuvring clew 7, so that, when the side 1a of the sail 1 is subjected to wind, the small additional sails 4 are themselves also filled in order to allow an increase in speed of the boat both for slight wind and for strong wind.
