A support tube (1) for holding a loudspeaker unit is mounted displaceably in a main support element (3). The position of the support tube (11) is fixed by means of a securing pin which can be inserted into one of a number of bores in the support tube. Arranged on the support tube (11) is a support plate (13) which is used for securing the loudspeaker unit. With the aid of the base plate (1) of a base element (1, 2), the suspension device can be secured on a room ceiling. The main support element (3) is arranged on the base element (1, 2) in such a way that it can be twisted relative to the latter. <IMAGE>
