PURPOSE:To ensure that an ink ribbon is contained in a ribbon cartridge stably without local biasing, by vibrating the ribbon cartridge in response to the movement of a carriage, in a printer. CONSTITUTION:When the carriage 17 is moved in the direction of an arrow D, that is, when the ink ribbon 12 is not fed, a lever 22 is turned by coming into contact with a plurality of vibrating levers, and when the engagement is released, the levers 21 are returned by a tension of a return spring 33, the ribbon cartridge 11 is intermittently vibrated by the impact generated at this time. By this vibration, the ink ribbon 12 is levitated from a bottom plate of the cartridge 11, the ribbon 12 which tends to be biased to the side of ribbon-feeding rollers 15, 16 is spread to the opposite side, and the containing condition is made to be uniform. Accordingly, the ink ribbon can be securely fed to a printing head. |
