PURPOSE:To improve accuracy of control and to stabilize the surface temp. of a billet by making heat transfer calculation by the prescribed approximate equation and subjecting the surface temp. of the billet cooled by the water sprayed at an adjusted rate to online calculation control. CONSTITUTION:A billet 3 formed by drawing out the molten steel poured into a mold 2 from a tundish 1 is cooled with cooling water. The section of the temp. measuring part of the drawn billet 3 is divided to a rectangular shape and the heat transfer calculation of the billet 3 is made by the approximate equation expressed by the equation I (where, W: enthalpy, t: time, lambda: thermal conductivity, T: temp., x: the coordinate in the transverse direction of the billet, y: the coordinate in the thickness direction of the billet a: 1/2 the width of the billet, b: 1/2 the thickness the billet, i: the mesh number counted from the surface when b is divided by plural pieces, j: the mesh number counted from the center when a is divided by plural pieces). The rate of water spraying in the secondary cooling zone of continuous casting is adjusted and the surface temp. of the billet 3 is subjected to online calculation control. |
