The invention relates to the application of the process for producing corrosion-resistant cold-rolled strip from unstabilised austenitic steel containing up to 0.07% of carbon, 17 to 20% of chromium and 8 to 10% of nickel. After hot-rolling, the strip is wound up while hot to form a coil, slowly cooled to room temperature in air, subjected, after unwinding from the coil, to a solution-annealing treatment in a continuous furnace with subsequent rapid quenching, then sandblasted, pickled in acid, cold-rolled to the final thickness in one or more passes, then finally annealed continuously and rapidly cooled. To improve the forming behaviour of the cold-rolled strip in forming steps, the solution-annealing treatment is carried out according to the invention at furnace temperatures from 800 to 1000 DEG C at specific heating times of 0.30 to 0.40 minute/mm of strip thickness.
