The hydraulically controlled metering dispenser serves for delivering liquid to viscous substances, eg. for handcream, soaps, shampoos, shower soap, cosmetic products, foods and the like. Arranged at the outlet 27 of an inverted bottle 6 is a metering valve 7 which, when opened by manual actuation, releases a metered quantity and allows the same quantity of air for pressure compensation. The bottle 6 consists of a flexible material and its squeezable region is arranged between two jaws 4, 5; 37, 38 which are variable in their spacing. Their spacing is varied by manual actuation, the metering valve opening in the case of overpressure in the bottle 6 and closing at atmospheric pressure. The actuation of the metering dispenser and receipt of the delivered substance are carried out by one and the same hand.
