The invention relates to a warp knitting machine having a gearbox arranged in the longitudinal direction of the machine and bars and folding rails which are mounted parallel thereto and which are subject to length expansions as a result of heat influences. The aim of the invention is to reduce the influence of disturbing temperature variations on the bars and folding rails and to keep division errors of the knitting tools within an acceptable limit. The object on which the invention is based is to provide a balanced temperature state in the region of the bars and folding rails. The object is achieved, according to the invention, in that the bars and folding rails are mounted at a distance in front of the gearbox and webs, partially surrounding the bars and folding rails, and air-guide plates are arranged on the gearbox. Advantageously, the webs which can be designed as angles possess perforations in the region underneath the bars. The invention can be used especially on high-speed warp knitting machines. <IMAGE>
