PURPOSE:To perform easily gas press welding with a compact device without requiring a power source by igniting the gunpowder in a capsule to explode the same in the qunpowder housing chamber in an pressing cylinder thereby actuating the pressing cylinder and performing upsetting. CONSTITUTION:A gunpowder capsule 4 formed by contg. black gun powder and an initiator in a metallic vessel consisting of Al, etc. is housed in a housing chamber consisting of fitting a collar 3 for adjusting upsetting behind a pressing piston 1 in a housing of a pressing cylinder 2 and the capsule 4 is connected to a battery via a switch 8 by means of a lead wire 9 led out through a hole pierced to the cover 5 of the cylinder 2 thereby constituting a gas press welding device. The need for a power source is eliminated by the device which is constituted of the above-mentioned way and has good workability, mobility, operability, etc. and the gas press welding is easily accomplished under adverse conditions such as in a narrow place or the like by closing the switch 8 to explode the gunpowder. |
