A stirrer (1), designed as an attachment for do-it-yourself machines, for mixing liquids, in particular paints, consists of a round shank (3) which can be clamped in place in the machine and of a stirring blade (2) fastened to the round shank (3). To obtain as wide a zone of intermixing as possible and a stirrer (1) which at the same time is easy to clean, provision is made according to the invention for the stirring blade (2) to be a long, flat profiled strip with a left-hand spiral of a total of about 90 DEG , which profiled strip has a symmetric cross-section in the shape of a spherical lune (4). <IMAGE>
