The handle bar arch 1 consists of an inner core 1a and of an outer fairing 1b, the cross-section of which can be likened to the profile of an aeroplane wing, in which are housed the brake-control cables, it being possible for the shape of the arch in the front plane to be horizontal or in a downwardly or upwardly swept "V"; the arch is fixed removably to a bracket 2 which is itself fixed directly onto the fork pivot 5 with the possibility of height adjustment, between two needle bearings ensuring the guidance in rotation of the handlebars, the angular deflection of the latter being limited by a slot 15 machined on the front side wall of the fork sleeve 8. <IMAGE>
