A jack-up mobile offshore drilling platform includes a hull 15 having a deck 14 and spaced openings 20 through the hull adjacent the edge of the hull. Legs 25 extend through the openings and jack means 30 engage with the legs to lower the legs onto the submerged surface whereby the hull may then be elevated on the legs above the water. Compartments 40 are formed and mounted on the deck 14 of the hull 15 to surround each leg 25 with the compartments being closed to provide buoyancy compartments for increasing the range of stability of the drilling platform. <IMAGE> |
