PURPOSE:To make the output performance and exhaust characteristics of an engine maintainable by finding an ignition delay time from the injection timing calculated from the operating condition and an ignition timing detected by such as an optical sensor and by controlling the ignition rate during the ignition delay period to correspond to the above condition. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit 22 comprising a microcomputer calculates the injection quantity, injection timing, and injection rate based on the operating condition of an engine, and drives an injection quantity control device 26, injection timing control device 27, and an injection rate control device 28 through respective driving circuits 23- 25. An injection timing calculated from the operating condition of the engine, and an injection delay time is obtained on the basis the injection timing calculated from the operating condition of the engine and the ignition timing detected by an optical sensor 20 and an ignition detection circuit 21, and the injection rate during the ignition delay period is controlled according to the ignition delay time. By this control, an optimum injection rate corresponding to the actual combustion condition can be established, so that the noise of the Diesel engine is reduced, the vibration characteristics is improved, and the injection rate is automatically corrected to an optimum value against the envirinmental change and the secular change of the engine, thus enabling the output performance and the exhaust characteristics from being deteriorated. |
