PURPOSE:To obtain a detecting element characterized by high sensitivity to alcohol gas, good reproducibily and less aging, by using a composite material comprising La2O3 as a main component, one of Pd or Pt powder, and glass in a specified ratio. CONSTITUTION:Either of Pd or Pt powder of 0.1-5wt% is added to La2O3 of 65.5-97.4wt%. Borosilicate glass comprising 54wt% PbO, 35wt% SiO2, 11wt% B2O3, and the like is included in a composite material in addition to the above described materials. The composite material, which is made to be a paste state, is used. On the back surface of a substrate 1 made of alumina and the like, a heater 2 is printed and dried by using Pt paste. Thereafter, a lower electrode 3 is printed and dried by the same way and burned. Said paste, which is to become an alcohol detecting element, is printed and dried so as to cover the electrode 3 and burned. Thus the detecting element 4 is formed. Then, an upper electrode 5 is formed by the same way as the case of the electrode 3. Thus, the element characterized by high sensitivity to alcohol gas, less aging and good reproducibility is obtained. |
