PURPOSE:To perform daylight synchronous photographing which is adequate in the case of under rear light, etc. by discriminating the luminance level of external light, controlling the daylight synchronous photographing only when the luminance is bright and performing dimming flash photographing at the aperture value corresponding to an object distance under the low luminance. CONSTITUTION:A photodetector 1 which detects the light reflected from an object by preliminarily emitted light, integrating circuits 2, 53 which integrate the output from said photodetector for prescribed time and aperture determining circuits 4, 5, 6, 7 which determine the aperture for dimming type flash photographing in accordance with the outputs from said circuits are provided. A switching means SW2 which selects and transmits the output from the photodetector corresponding to the luminance of incident light or the above-described aperture determining circuits in place of the outputs from the integrating circuits indicating the output from the photodetector integrated when the outputs from the circuits exceet a prescribed level is provided.
