PURPOSE:To enhance image density and stability by incorporating a magnetic powder, a binder, a titanium type coupling agent, and a surfactant. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic toner contains a binder, a magnetic powder, a titanium type coupling agent, and a surfactant. Said coupling agent is oriented on the surface of said magnetic powder by combining the agent with said surfactant, and the agent reacts with the powder surface to form a bond, further, the polar groups of the surfactant are oriented on the agent layer present on the powder surface, the hydrophobic groups are oriented outward from these particles to make themselves more hydrophobic or oleophilic, and to prevent hydrolysis of the agent and make it more stable. As a result, the magnetic powder is uniformly dispersed and a toner high in humidity resistance is obtained, scattering due to the cause of manufacture can be restrained, and blackness, chargeability, and image density can be enhanced. |
