A single-rod electrode assembly comprises a measuring half cell 6, 12 and a reference half cell 8, 18 symmetrically constructed and arranged within a housing 4 so as to ensure that the assembly will always rapidly give accurate results even when there are large temperature changes externally of the housing. The half cells contact a sample solution via an ion selective membrane 32 and a porous ceramic rod 34 (or direct contact), respectively. Further improvement of measuring accuracy can be obtained by the use of a thermally insulating sleeve 36. <IMAGE> |
