PURPOSE:To efficiently carry out the chamfering of long and short sides of a steel and the deburring of upper and lower surfaces thereof, by providing a rectangular steel transferring path, a steel shifting device, devices for chamfering the short and long sides of the steel, a polishing machine for the upper surface of the steel and a steel reversing device. CONSTITUTION:It is necessary for a steel plate 1 to be polished that both short and long sides of the steel plate 1 are chamfered, and burrs which are projected from the upper or lower surface of the steel plate 1 at holes formed in both ends of the steel plate 1 are removed. Then, a rectangular transferring path is formed provided with longitudinal paths 3, 4 and transverse paths 5, 6. A short side chamfering device 57 is arranged in opposite to the upstream end of the longitudinal path 4, and a long side chamfering device 90 is disposed downstream of an upper surface polishing machine 57 provided in the intermediate section of the longitudinal path 4. Further, a short side chamfering device 103 is arranged in opposite to the downstream end of the longitudinal path 4, and a reversing device 105 is disposed in the intermediate section of the transverse path. Thus the chamfering and deburring of a steel may be efficiently made. |
