PURPOSE:To attain image pickup of a still picture of an optional shutter speed without using a shutter device by controlling a driving condition of an image pickup element. CONSTITUTION:In depresing a release switch 7, a control signal from a drive condition setting device 10 is changed into a signal bringing an image pickup element 8 to the image pickup mode for a required period set by a shutter speed setting device 6. Then the image pickup element 8 generates an electric charge in response to an incident object image by a drive signal from a drive circuit 9. That is, the period is equivalently a period when the shutter is opened. Then the generated electric charge is read in synchronizing with a synchronizing signal from a synchronizing signal generator 5 and recorded in a recorder 4. Thus, the still picture of an optional shutter speed is picked up without using the shutter device in this way. |
