<p>The short bridge-piece is fitted between the arterial and veinous systems of the patient, and to this one or more miniaturised collectors are connected, the inlet being connected to the artery and the outlet to the vain. Means are included for introducing an anticoagulant or reference liquid. The bridge-piece can be in the form of a tube through which the blood flows, the collectors being inserted so as to come in contact with it, and it can be of metarial not conductive to thrombosis, and offering no resistance to the blood flow. It can be connected between and artery and a vein in the same limb, a catheter being used to couple it to each, while a retention device is provided for the collectors.</p> |
