PURPOSE:To make easier the designing and manufacture of a rotary thermal head, raise printing finish and heat-sink effects, and reduce the cost of the head by using a rotary thermal head in which heating elements for forming dots are arranged in a checkered pattern on the peripheral whole surface of a cylinder. CONSTITUTION:In a rotary thermal head 1, heating elements 3 are formed at intervals of one element in the direction of line of the periphery of an insulating cylinder 2 and connected at the common line 5, where the elements 3 for upper and lower lines are formed into a checkered pattern by staggering their positions. Even for the common line 10, the elements 3 are likewise arranged at intervals of one element. Latters, etc., to be printed are of a combination of checkered dot lines. The uniformity of the dot arrangement is improved, and print finish of marks, patterns, etc., having wide width and large-size letters can particularly be improved. |
