A fluidized bed combustion chamber (2), preferably enclosed within a pressure vessel (1) and intended to operate under overpressure, having a preferably plane bottom (7) with a plurality of openings or nozzles for the supply of combustion air. The substantially rectangular combustion chamber (2) ist formed at its lower portion with two or more parallel grooves (4) wtih downwardly converging side walls (5) and with a depth which is substantially equal to the height of the bed during normal operation, and that above the grooves (4) there is a common gas collecting space (11). The inclination-angel of the side walls is between 3 DEG and 15 DEG . The ration between the top and bottom areas of the grooves (4) is between 1.3 and 3.0. |
