PURPOSE:To make the amount of a stuck developer uniform and to stabilize image density by providing a power source part which generates a difference in potential between a developer carrier and an image carrier and a detecting means which detects the amount of the developer applied over the surface of the developer carrier. CONSTITUTION:The power source part 57 which generates the difference in potential between the developing roller 45 and photosensitive body 12 is connected to, for example, the developing roller 45. Then, a control means 58 consists of an arithmetic part 58A which compares the detection signal from, for example, the coating amount detecting means 55 with the reference signal corresponding to the predetermined amount of coating, and a central control part 58B which decides on an increase or decrease in the current coating amount of the developer on the basis of the data obtained by the comparative arithmetic of the arithmetic part 58A and gives the optimum potential difference corresponding to the amount of coating between the developing roller 45 and photosensitive body 12. thus, the amount of the stuck developer is made uniform to stabilize the image density. |
