PURPOSE:To provide a filter press for removing a filter cake without damaging filter cloth, constituted so as to bend the filter cloth by curved surfaces, which are formed to both edges of a filter cloth bending and guiding member provided between a filter plate and a filter cloth wind-up apparatus therebelow, while winding up the same. CONSTITUTION:In a filter press constituted so that filter cloths arranged to both sides of filter plate 5 are wound up by a wind-up roller 20 provided below the filter plates 5, a long filter cloth bending and guiding member 21 extending to the width direction of the filter plate 5 and a pair of guide rollers 23 extending in parallel toward the filter cloths 16 in the vicinity of the lower part of said member 21 are provided between the above mentioned filter plate 5 and the wind-up roller 20. The both edge parts of the above-mentioned guide member 21 are formed into curved surfaces 21a and the mutual gap of the guide rollers 23 is made smaller than the width dimension of the guide member 21. The filter cloths 16 wound up in a downward direction are largely bent between the above- mentioned curved surfaces 21a and the guide rollers 23 and the filter cakes 27 on the filter cloths are easily released, fallen and removed from the filter cloths 16.
