PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF MIXTUR CONTAINING CYCLOHEXANOL AND CYCLOHEXANONE

A mixt. contg. cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone is produced by oxidizing cyclohexane with air at 120-160≰C in the presence of at least one transition metal complex catalyst of formula (I) to give a reaction mixt. contg. cyclohexyl hydroperoxide, and then decomposing the reaction mixt. at 80-100≰C into a mixt. of cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone in the presence of cyclohexane. In (I), the primary ligand is in brackets; M is CO, Mn or Fe; R1-R6 are each H, lower alkyl, lower alkoxyalkyl, or lower alkoxyalkyl; X is carboxylate or hydroxide; n is 1 or 2; p is 0, 1 or 2; and n+p is 2 or 3.
