Device for measuring the heads of gravitational flow lines. It is comprised of a sheath formed by a section (1) and covers (5) inside which parallel shelves (2), arranged at constant intervals and enabling the rising and lowering of the effluent inside the sheath, form the support of balls (3) resting in the blind hole (8) of the shelves (2) by an appendix (7). When the effluent rises in the equilibrium chimney-forming sight hole, it also rises in the sheath wherein the balls (3) subjected to the Archimedean thrust leave their rest position above the blind hole (8). The highest ball (3) which leaves said position indicates, with a tolerance of a few centimetres, the maximum level reached by the effluent. The device according to the invention is particularly intended to the drawing of piezometric curves of gravitational flow conduits.
