The insulating thermal covering is formed by large-sized panels 1, made from expanded material, which are fixed against the walls of a building using a layer of adhesive material 5 and are then covered on the outside by another layer of insulating adhesive material 6, the said material also filling the interstices made between the adjacent edges of the panels which it enframes. These panels are characterised by their subdivision into small elements 2 which are linked via bridges 3. The insulating covering is characterised by an improvement in the fixing of the panels 1, each element 2 having the purpose of a direct peripheral link between the wall 7 and the external layer 6. <IMAGE>
