In a small crane for building up bricks in layers, in particular large-sized bricks, which crane consists of a tower, rotatable about its longitudinal axis by means of a rotary plate and supported in a tiltable manner about its transverse axis on a ground support having radially arranged supporting feet, and of a double-armed jib removably suspended on this tower and having an underslung running rail, it is proposed, in order to reduce the dead weight and to produce walls directly adjacent to existing walls or to avoid any obstacles in the jib slewing range, that the jib consist of a compression tube stiffened by a stiffening chord and of a supporting rail for a lifting appliance, which supporting rail is suspended on the compression tube in such a way as to be longitudinally movable in a cantilevered manner. <IMAGE>
