The subject of the invention is an appliance for the topping of beet which allows the simultaneous collection of the beet tops and, if appropriate, also of the precut beet leaves. A supporting arm (2), articulated pivotably on the machine frame (1), carries a cutting centrifugal unit (4) for the beet tops with flail-like cutting knives (5). In the beet row, at least one front passive tracer (6) is arranged in front of this centrifugal unit (4) and behind the latter is arranged a rear guide tracer (9). A limiting slip heel (11) is provided next to the beet row.
