Couplings are used in typewriters or similar office machines wherever different functions, such as ink ribbon drive, correction ribbon lifting and drive, etc., are to be driven selectively. For this purpose, the coupling has a coupling part which can be engaged with a rotating drive shaft (3) of a drive motor (5). The invention is based on the object of providing a coupling of this type which is of simple construction and is to be electronically drivable. This object is achieved in that the rotatably mounted coupling part (1) has a permanent magnet (13) in whose magnetic field there is a stationarily arranged excitation coil (15) in the non-engaged position of the coupling part (1) and to achieve a coupling-in movement of the coupling part (1).
