The invention relates to a breeder material lining for the core of an undermoderated nuclear reactor, which lining essentially absorbs neutron radiation emitted by bundles of fuel elements, whereby plutonium is generated, or reflects said neutron radiation. According to the invention, the breeder material lining is produced from a binary alloy which comprises uranium in a proportion from 85 to 95% by weight and one of the elements of columns Va and VIa of the periodic table in a proportion from 15 to 5% by weight. The breeder material lining according to the invention is used in undermoderated nuclear reactors.
