DC generator unit

A DC generator unit is created which is able to supply a high output current over a large speed range. The generator unit comprises a field winding (3), three-phase generator windings (2a, 2b, 2c), a rectifier unit (4) and a circuit (6) for producing control signals in response to the output value of the generator. The rectifier unit (4) is constructed such that the phase windings (2a, 2b, 2c) are star-connected in response to these control signals when the output value of the generator is below a predetermined value, and are delta-connected above this value. <IMAGE>
