In a dipping basin for the impregnation of wood, consisting of a base (2), arranged in an essentially rectangular horizontal projection, and of side walls (3), cleaning of the base (2) without an additional container for the impregnation liquid can be effected if a dividing wall (6) is pushed into guides (4) of the side walls (3), which dividing wall (6) has at its side edges (11) and at the edge (11) pointing to the base a receptacle (12) open to the outside for a seal (8). The volume of the dipping basin is thereby subdivided into chambers, of which one can be emptied and cleaned in each case by pumping the impregnation liquid over into the other chambers (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
