1-Phenyl-2-aminoethanol derivs. of formula (I) or their pharmaceutically acceptable salts are prepd. by reacting glyoxal of formula (IV) with an amino compds. of formula (V) under reducing conditions. In the formulas, R1 is 3,4-bis(3-8C)-alkanoyloxphenyl, 3,5-bis(3-8C)alkanoyloxyphenyl, 3-(3-8C)alkanoyloxymethyl -4(3-8C) alkanoyloxyphenyl, 4-(3-8C)alkanoyloxyphenyl, 2-chloro phenyl, or 3,5-dichloro-4-aminophenyl; R2 and R3 are all H or methyl; R4 is H or C1-6 alkyl; R5 is C1-6 alkyl, or R4 and R5 form together C2-5 alkenyl; A1 is methylene; A2 is C1-4 alkylene; and Q is phenylacetyl, phenoxyacetyl, or benzoyl. |
