Sensor adapter for an inductive proximity switch

For an inductive proximity switch having an RF oscillator, which exhibits an oscillator magnetic core (6, 7) which is sensitive to saturation and can be influenced by an external magnetic field, and to which a moving trigger (10) which influences the magnetic flux is allocated, a sensor adapter (1) has been created which allows the proximity switch to be triggered over great distances and particularly through thick walls and through ferromagnetic or ferritic walls. The sensor adapter has two parallel elongated magnetic flux conductors (2) which are spaced apart by a non-magnetic insulation (3) and have on both ends pole-like connecting faces (4, 5), the connecting pair (4/4) of which, facing the proximity switch, can be attached to the oscillator magnetic core (6, 7) and the other connecting face pair (5/5) of which can be bridged by the trigger (10). When triggering through a ferritic or ferromagnetic wall, the sensor adapter can consist of a single flux conductor provided with magnetic insulation and the wall can be utilised as magnetic return path. <IMAGE>
