A belt grinder for grinding skate runners, which can be used for face grinding at the upper strand (7a) of its grinding belt and can be used for producing a transverse concave grinding finish in front of its grinding-belt deflection roller designed as contact wheel (12), is to be designed in such a way that it is easy to manipulate and can be used for all three types of conventional grinding work for skates, namely a transverse concave grinding finish, a longitudinal concave grinding finish and a face/angular grinding finish. For this purpose, the belt grinder is designed as an attachment for a power drill (1) and consists of a grinding-belt guide (3) firmly mounted on a support plate (2) and of a mounting block (4), likewise mounted on the support plate, for the power drill, the grinding-belt guide (3) having an adaptor (23) for a longitudinal concave grinding finish, which adaptor (23) lies below the upper strand (7a) and is provided with a raised longitudinal bead which runs along the grinding belt (7) and the cross-section of which corresponds to the desired longitudinal concave grinding finish of the runner. <IMAGE>
