PURPOSE:To improve battery performance and operating life performance by loading a fixed holding body, which is loaded to the area in contact with the external side through formation of shape storing alloy into the shape of coil, to a battery. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of shape storing alloy 1 formed like a coil, which displaces in two directions, shows modification temperature, for example, of 30 deg.C-40 deg.C and is composed of a Cu-Zn-Al alloy are loaded to a fixing and holding body 2 which fixes a flat plate type sealed lead storage battery consisting of iron, etc. with the one end welded. Two sheets of fixing and holding bodies 2 are mounted to the external surface of the sealed type leas storage battery 5 in such a manner as holding it from both side, where the electrode plate group providing the positive and negative electrode plates and separator consisting of fine glass fiber is impregnated with the electrolyte and it is then non-fluidized. Thereby, when an ambient temperature becomes high, the shape storing alloy 1 extends and pressurization of electrode plate group can be sustained as high as that under the normal temperature by suppressing expansion of battery case. |
