LENNART WIKDAHL TITLE: METHOD IN THICKENING A FIBER SUSPENSION IN A THICKENING APPARATUS A method in thickening a fiber suspension in a thickening apparatus working under pressure and including an inlet for the fiber suspension and an outlet for a substantially fiberfree fraction, a supply conduit being connected to the inlet,and a discharge conduit being connected to each of the outlets. The flow in the discharge conduit for the fiber-rich fraction is regulated via a valve in the discharge conduit. Regulation is done on the basis of measuring a physical parameter of the fiber fraction with the aid of a transducer. The measured value is compared with a criterion value, and if there is a difference, the flow through the discharge conduit is changed to approach the criterion value.
