The disclosure relates to an apparatus for the movable interconnection of buoyant bodies end-to-end, in which one or more buffers are placed between the adjacent surfaces of the buoyant bodies, a flexible coupling member having its one end anchored in the one buoyant body, extending through the buffer and having its other end anchored in the other buoyant body, whereupon the buffer is compressed for urging the material of the buffer against the flexible coupling member.
