The installation in which the melt is transferred into the mould bottom from underneath from the ladle bottom of a pressurised casting ladle via a lockable transfer pipe, has a pressure control system incorporating a timer and also a signalling device from the casting mould, which assures that the mould is part filled first at a slow rate followed at a faster rate. The casting rate is adjusted by pressure adjustments in the space above the melt level in the totally enclosed ladle. The system does away with human control and automatically assures uniform casting quality. |
