Multistation wire drawing bench - with cold intermediate coiling barrels

Each station comprises a revolving barrel assembly and a die. Each barrel assembly consists of a pair of coaxial barrels and a wire guide for transferring the wire between the contra rotating barrels one of which only has a drive, the other being an idler. The support for the guide rotates at a speed equalling the algebraic sum of the speed of the two barrels. The guide support is driven by a drive shaft for the one barrel via a transmission located away from the two barrels at the end of the drive shaft. The disposition of the guide drive transmission ensures that no heat, which may be generated, is transmitted to the barrels thereby endangering the workpiece wire.
