PURPOSE:To enable a vehicle to travel in failure of a sensor by providing two pick-up sensors to compare both signals of the sensors with each other for detecting failure of the sensor and carrying out the advance angle control and rotational frequency detection with one sensor. CONSTITUTION:A crank angle detecting and advance angle controlling device in a computer 5 compares the pulse signals of pick-up sensors 3, 4 with each other to detect the failure of sensor. When the sensor 3 is judged to be failured, the advance angle is controlled by the crank angle detected by all sensors 4 or controlled properly. Further, the rotational frequency is detected by counting the number of pulses of the sensor 4. Thus, a vehicle can travel even in the failure of the sensor. |
