摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce the gross weight of a rocket motor to aim at enhancing the performance characteristics of the rocket motor, such as, for example, the specific impulse thereof, by providing, in a space defined between a slider and a front nozzle, a gas generator which directly couples between the front nozzle and a rear nozzle with combustion gas. CONSTITUTION:Before separation of the front and rear stages of a rocket a front nozzle 13, a slider 20 and a rear nozzle 23 are maintained to be overlapped together. Then, upon the separation a gas generator 27 operates so that the combustion gas thereof is filled in a space 22. Therefore, the slider 20 and the rear nozzle 23 move rearward so that the rear nozzle 23 is coupled with the rear end part of the front nozzle 13. With this arrangement, the gas generator may be made small and lightweight so that the gross weight of the rocket may be reduced, thereby the performance characteristics of the rocket such as, for example, the specific impulse thereof may be enhanced.
