PURPOSE:To decrease generation of ground flaws and to prevent decrease in the content of Al in a high Al steel contg. a specific amt. of Al in the stage of making said steel into an ingot by using a CaO-Al2O3 oxidation preventing agent contg. a specific amt. of SiO2. CONSTITUTION:An oxidation preventing agent consisting of CaO-Al2O3 contg. <=7wt% SiO2 is used in the stage of making a high Al steel contg. >=0.1wt% Al into an ingot. Said agent is, for example, composed principally of about 32- 33wt% CaO and 23-25wt% Al2O3, contains about 0.5-0.7wt% FeO, about 12- 14wt% Na2O and about 15-18wt% C and is incorporated with <=7wt% SiO2. |
