PURPOSE:To enable casting after exchanging only the die members having the worn die surfaces by fixing the die members on the surface of which the die surfaces contacting with a molten metal are formed to die bodies and performing casting. CONSTITUTION:Die members 12, 12A forming die surfaces 13, 13A that contact with a molten metal of dies for casting are formed of a die material having strength to thermal impact, etc. On the other hand, die bodies 1, 1A are made of an ordinary material and the members 12, 12A are made adequately exchangeable. The dies can be therefore manufactured more inexpensively than in the case of forming the entire part of the die for casting of a high-grade die material. Even if the die surfaces 13, 13A are worn, the bodies 1, 1A are usable as they are after exchanging the members 12, 12A alone. A molten metal which is mainly an aluminum alloy, zinc alloy or the like is relatively low in temp. and therefore even if the wall thickness of the members 12, 12A is decreased, the members withstand the pressure of the molten metal. The die is applicable to castings in addition to a rolling type ingot. |
