PURPOSE:To enable to easily fit and detach a paper-supplying cassette, by a method wherein a paper-supplying cassette is provided on the lower side of a platen, a paper-discharging tray is provided off to the upper position of the platen, and a side face of a casing is provided with an inlet/outlet port for a thermal transfer material cassette, in a thermal printer. CONSTITUTION:The paper-supplying cassette 8 is provided on the lower side of the platen, and the paper-discharging tray 16 for printed papers is provided skewly above the platen. Accordingly, the tray 16 or the like does not interfere with the fitting and removal of the cassette 8, and the cassette 8 can be easily fitted and detached through a paper-supplying cassette fitting port 19 provided in the front face of the casing 1. The thermal transfer material cassette 20 is inserted into a holder 6 through the inlet/outlet port 40 provided in the side face of the casing 1 and provided with an openable cover 41. To prevent the cover 41 from being unreasonably opened, an electromagnetic lock mechanism is provided. Accordingly, the paper-supplying cassette can be easily fitted and removed. |
